In what is perhaps the latest example of the downfall of American culture and civics, one Florida public school has taken to sending a permission slip home to parents during the first week of school notifying parents that they can request for their child to not participate in the daily “ Pledge of Allegiance ”.
This image was shared by Micah Brienen of this past week, and it has since gone viral, reaching thousands and causing quite the stir on social media. He was understandably shocked and outraged that this was what our nation had come to saying, “My niece brought this home from school today…What is happening to our country?!?” Later he wrote, “The Pledge of Allegiance opt out waiver is part of the Leon County Student Handbook in Tallahassee, Florida. leonschools.net
This particular waiver was brought home by my niece from Killearn Lakes Elementary School. The parents are required to sign and return to confirm they received!
This is simply the latest step in the left’s war on every cultural value of the American conservative. They’ve declared war on our churches, our families, our morality, our patriotism, our priorities, our sexuality, and now… they’re working to corrupt the minds and hearts of the most impressionable in our society, our children.
Mr. Brienen replied to the outpouring of support and agreement on his Facebook page saying:
Man I am overwhelmed by the support I have received on my post regarding The Pledge of Allegiance…thousands of shares & my inbox has been flooded with positive messages from people across the country. Never in my life have I been more encouraged to be an American citizen and Patriot. Also, sadly, it has never been more clear that some people have no idea what the progressive movement is and how it has taken over our education system.
It is so important we STAND UP for our country and what is right. #GodBlessAmerica
